Barlings Abbey, near Lincoln, once a much larger 12th century Premonstratention abbey has now been reduced to a single rib of stone which rises out of the level farmland against a wild and unpredictable sky. I have a used black ink pen and watercolour wash to illustrate this lonely structure.
